Get a sense of what you can expect when attending one of our natural building courses.

These pictures are from the CPD accredited natural building course in March 2017, held at Jakkalskloof farm in Swellendam. Jakkalskloof is a biodynamic farm and training centre.

During this course participants worked on an inviting outdoor space that will serve multiple purposes including boma, braai area and outdoor class room.

Our natural building course is designed to teach participants how earth works, allowing them to make an appropriate choice based on materials available to them on their own site. Materials and techniques covered included, understanding earth, how to test your earths, basic site layout, mud brick, cob, light earth, rammed earth, compressed earth brick, straw bale, rock, natural plasters, foundations, walls, openings, passive solar design, natural plasters and off-grid solar energy design.
